Sage fights piracy with PCA

Business software vendor Sage has become a member of the Professional Computing Association (PCA) in a bid to extend its anti-piracy activities.

With almost 900 members, the independent organisation set itself a goal in March to eventually pass the 1,000 member milestone.

Keith Warburton, chief executive of the PCA, said “The breadth of our membership is a tremendous attraction for most businesses; our members gain great rewards from networking and from information interchange.

“With over 700 resellers and retailers committed to supporting our Code of Practice, and with a series of networking events taking place during the year, membership of the Association is a must for channel players who are serious about business.”

Sarah McKenzie, software licensing manager at Sage, said “With its code of Practice for software resellers which outlaws improper trading in illegally copied software, we see the PCA as a very worthwhile business ally.

“We hope that our membership of the PCA will benefit our existing activity in this area, which aims to deliver great rewards and benefits for legitimate traders. We look forward to taking an active part in the association over coming months”
