Secure Computing has moved to quell rumours that it has parted company with its UK and Ireland regional sales director just months after poaching him from corporate reseller Computacenter.
The security vendor has confirmed that, contrary to channel rumours, Kieran Lees has been reassigned as director of global sales operations. Lees has made sweeping changes to Secure's distribution strategy since joining earlier this year, dropping Bell Micro from its line-up (CRN, 12 June).
The new role will see Lees focus on global sales initiatives, including measurement and reporting, business optimisation, and providing consultation to our sales regions. He will now report to Glenn Cross, SVP worldwide sales.

Secure said in a statement: "The company felt [Lees'] skills and industry experience would be better served in a global capacity. The company is currently evaluating options for backfilling Kieran’s position in the UK."
Nicola Law, security sales specialist at IQ-Sys, which distributes Secure’s authentication products, said: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Kieran is taking on a global role as he seems to have done well in the UK.”
