Trade-only support services firm Comms-care has confirmed that it is in negotiations to acquire two businesses in the channel following a seven-figure cash injection from Bank of Scotland Corporate.
The firm has outlined ambitious growth plans for the next 12 months that include geographical expansion and further acquisitions.
Scott Yates, managing director of Comms-care, told CRN: “There are two companies we have focused on. We are in the final stages of negotiations with them and are keen to complete the acquisitions very quickly.
“We are interested in buying only channel-focused organisations so we are somewhat limited in our search, but we hope to find more targets.”
Comms-care is enjoying success outside the UK with offices in Madrid, Frankfurt and Dublin, where the services firm claimed it is eager to expand its market share.
“In Ireland we are becoming dominant and want to replicate that by selling locally elsewhere. We want to grow the maintenance business and expand our geographic locations. We have opportunities in the US that we are looking into.”
Peter Titmus, managing director of rival support provider Networks First, said: “I am surprised that Comms-care has the funding to pursue acquisitions. The last time it published its figures it was not in a position to expand so rapidly.”
