Telephony vendor Aastra has launched a guide to help resellers that advise small businesses on voice over IP (VoIP).
"In the SME market, awareness of what something such as VoIP can do is limited," said Tim Wells, marketing director at Aastra. "Our resellers were talking to customers and finding they didn't have the information."
Wells added that his firm's resellers will get 200 free copies each. More copies, complete with the reseller's brand, would be available for £400 per 1,000 copies.

John Massey, managing director of reseller Actimax, welcomed the move. "Anything that makes it easier to generate enquiries is worth it, and these guides are helpful," he said.
Aastra found that 90 per cent of business owners do not understand VoIP or its benefits.
"People in our target market have misconceptions about VoIP. A fair number of people think it is only about point-to-point connections over the internet," said Wells.
