Westcon division Comstor has signed a distribution deal to supply the full HP ProCurve range to its UK reseller base.
The distributor, which is also a Cisco partner, forms part of HP ProCurve’s drive to expand its enterprise channel, and means HP will be able to take advantage of Comstor’s focused expertise in networking and security and its professional services resources.
Rumours of an HP ProCurve and Comstor union first began circulating in the channel just under two years ago, but following Westcon’s acquisition of Comstor, the rumours faded.

Darryl Brick, UK country manager at HP ProCurve, said: “This agreement is a positive development for both HP ProCurve and Comstor. Like Comstor, HP ProCurve is committed to offering its customers choice through open standards and non-propriety products, and this appointment is another way of offering choice to the channel and indirectly to customers.”
Jon Pritchard, vice president and general manager of Comstor Europe, said: “We see this as wholly complementary to our existing lines of business. We want to be in a position to offer our reseller customers a credible and reliable alternative. We chose HP because of the strength of its brand and because they have an exciting strategy to grow their business at a pace much faster than the market.”
