Dutch distributor Consolidate IT is ramping up its UK operations in anticipation of a 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) boom.
The distributor inked a pan-European distribution deal with 10GbE vendor Arista Networks last year. Consolidate also carries a range of 10GbE infrastructure products, including kit from chip giant Intel and storage vendor Stonefly, which signed up the VAD last month.
Terascala and ExaGrid are among other recent vendor signings. Frank Sutton recently joined the distributor as UK and Ireland development director. He indicated the number of UK resellers his firm works with has risen from 12 to almost 50 in the past few months and said he wants to add 15 more. Notable VAR signings include Insight Enterprises and DSGi.

“10GbE is the next phase within the datacentre,” said Sutton. “We can offer a starter pack for anybody who wants to dip their toes in the 10GbE market. We are looking for storage and virtualisation resellers.”
