Rod Evans, managing director for EMEA at Rackable Systems, said: “Resellers in the digital media, Web 2.0 and high-performance computing markets would be well suited.”

George Skaff, vice president of marketing at Rackable Systems, said: “We have built a team of six for the UK to move forward with our channel and plan for more partners especially across northern Europe.”

The vendor’s European arm is run from Ireland, but it plans to open a UK base in Thames Valley this month.

In related news, this month the vendor acquired the assets of HPC vendor Silicon Graphics, for about $25m (£17.4m) in cash.
