Network infrastructure storage vendor QLogic has cited the Bell-Avnet merger as a key factor in its decision to add Azlan to its distribution stable.
The Computer 2000-owned distributor has been appointed by the vendor to market its Ethernet, fibre channel and infiniBand storage networking products to UK VARs.
Henrik Hansen, EMEA marketing director at QLogic, said the merger between its two incumbent distributors had influenced a change in its distribution strategy.

“It is one of many reasons we decided to partner with Azlan,” said Hansen. “When you have two distributors that become one, you want to be sure that you maintain the same market coverage you’ve always had.”
The calibre of the other vendors on Azlan’s books also worked in the company's favour.
“They [Azlan] have very good relationships with Juniper, Cisco and HP, which is very exciting for us,” added Hansen.
Franco Mezzullo, EMEA vice president at QLogic, said: “As we look to expand our presence and achieve greater market penetration, we expect Azlan will help us to meet our objectives with channel partners here.”
