Richard Fennessy has left the building

Corporate reseller Insight Enterprises has begun the hunt for a new head honcho following the sudden departure of Richard Fennessy.

Having successfully grown Insight into a Fortune 500 company, long-standing president and chief executive Fennessy has left “to pursue other opportunities”.

Insight has immediately installed director Anthony Ibargüen – former chief operating officer at distributor Tech Data – as interim president and chief executive, but has initiated a “global search” for a permanent replacement.

NASDAQ-listed Insight used the announcement to re-iterate that it is on track to meet its previous earnings forecast for 2009.

Timothy Crown, chairman and co-founder of Insight, said: “We are confident that Insight is well positioned for success.

“Insight’s next president and chief executive officer will lead a company with a sound business strategy, talented team-mates and deep partner and client relationships. Going forward, our focus will be on improving shareholder value through consistent and timely execution of the strategy and increasing the organic growth in our business.”
