Juniper Networks has headed off months of speculation by adding Westcon Group to its stable of UK distributors.

Rumours first surfaced that Juniper would appoint Westcon in the UK after Westcon’s early 2007 acquisition of security distributor Noxs - with whom Juniper partners in several European territories (CRN, May 25).

The partnership extension hands Westcon’s Noxs and Convergence arms access to Juniper’s full range of products across the UK and Europe.

Juniper already works with Computerlinks, Sphinx, Azlan and Horizon equIP in the UK. It also recently appointed niche distributor VADition to push its Advanced Technologies to the storage channel (CRN, 19 September).

Barry Shakespeare, executive VP Westcon Group Europe, commented: “We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Juniper with the addition of both Westcon Convergence and Noxs as distribution partners in the UK, and the strengthening of our Juniper partnership in mainland Europe with the addition of Westcon Convergence to our existing Noxs relationship.

“This is an important development as we continue to work with our customers to exploit opportunities in the enterprise networking and security markets across our key geographies.”

David Small, vice president of channel sales, EMEA at Juniper, said. “Westcon Group has a highly developed network of enterprise-focused resellers in the U.K. who will appreciate the flexibility and performance of Juniper’s best-in-class solutions.

“When you combine the strength of Juniper’s high-performance network infrastructure solutions with the comprehensive support offered through Westcon and Noxs, it spells greater opportunity for us across the board.”
