Crossing the channel: Systancia is looking for UK VARs with vertical expertise

French virtualisation vendor Systancia is on the hunt for distribution partners and VARs to assist the roll out of its first UK market offering, AppliDis Fusion 4.

Systancia claimed the product is the first to offer both application and desktop virtualisation in a single solution. The firm is looking for a specialist team to help market it in the UK.

Andy Boyle, UK sales manager at Systancia, said: “The product has sold well in our domestic market, and that is one of the reasons why we are launching it in the UK now.

“At the moment, we are currently in discussion with a number of distributors that are interested in it and, in terms of ideal [reseller] partners, we will be targeting VARs specifically which specialise in virtualisation in vertical markets.”

Boyle, who was appointed earlier this month to head up Systancia’s UK expansion plans, said VARs that get on board with the vendor will benefit from attractive margins and a supportive partner programme.

“We will be offering margins that we believe to be far more substantial than those offered by our competitors, and unrivalled levels of partner support,” he claimed.

Adrian Sunderland, chief technical officer at Griffin Internet, said that, as a newcomer to the UK market, Systancia will be up against some fierce competition.

“With this market dominated by VMWare and Citrix, with their large installed bases and established partner programmes, it will be interesting to see whether Systancia has the technology and resources to become a serious challenger,” he said.
