Reseller Northgate Information Solutions has won a contract with Humberside Police to help it develop its Speed Awareness Scheme.
Northgate will provide Humberside Police with an upgrade to its existing fixed penalty technology. Drivers convicted of an eligible driving offence will be offered either a speed awareness course or a fixed penalty notice.
Dave Meaden, managing director of Northgate's public services division, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Humberside Police to open up access to speed awareness education."
The technology will also link up with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
Tracey Windas, central ticket office manager at Humberside Police, said in a statement: "This upgrade to our systems will enable us to process information more efficiently and continue to help us educate speeding motorists."
