Systems integrator MTI has poached one of VMware’s senior staff to oversee the marketing of its Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) block packages.
The packages feature products by all three members of the Virtual Computing Environment (VCE) coalition (VMware, Cisco and EMC), which are specifically configured to help end users deploy private cloud environments.
Richard Flanders, former head of VMware’s product marketing team, has been hired by MTI to develop marketing programmes for the technology.

Flanders said he was looking forward to getting stuck into his role as product marketing director at MTI.
“It is very exciting to join an ambitious and focused organisation like MTI to further develop its compelling customer propositions for virtualisation, public and private cloud,” said Flanders.
Aad Dekkers, chief marketing officer at MTI, said the firm has stolen a march on its rivals with its VCE deployments to date.
“We are leading the way as the sole systems integrator in Europe to have physically installed Vblock infrastructure packages.
“This market is moving quickly and we are looking to consolidate our leadership by developing additional strategies and propositions under Richard’s guidance,” he added.
