Security vendor Sophos has claimed it is the first in the industry to integrate anti-virus protection and general application control technology.
The vendor last week launched the Sophos Application Control tool, which can be bolted onto Sophos’s existing end-point security range, and allows end-users to block unwanted and unauthorised applications such as games and voice over IP clients.
Stuart Small, director of UK sales and marketing at Sophos, said: “This is another thing for our channel partners to talk about with their customers and it is a timely and topical subject. Resellers can go to both new and existing Sophos customers with the tool and open up a new line of revenue.”
