Azlan has continued its European acquisition rampage by gobbling up Belgian storage distributor Source.
Broadline distributor Tech Data has bolstered enterprise arm Azlan with a number of purchases on the continent in recent months, most recently buying Netherlands-based distributor CDG Europe. Spanish IBM distributor Compumedi was among its conquests last year.
Now it has laid down an undisclosed sum for 29-strong Sun and EMC distributor Source. The deal is set to close in the second quarter.

Nico Vercammen and Danny Herreman, co-managing partners at Source, said: “With Source’s added value services and reputation in the storage and server market, combined with Azlan’s networking presence and Tech Data’s large customer base, we have created the strongest distributor in Benelux.
Simon England, Azlan vice president, Europe, said: “This represents a great fit for both organisations, providing excellent opportunities for partners at a time when the datacentre and storage solutions market is evolving rapidly.
“As new private and public cloud computing and managed service models converge, and changes take place at key vendors, the team and the partners Source adds to our business create compelling growth opportunities, particularly as the demand environment improves.”
