NetApp's second quarter revenue has taken a slight tumble, according to the storage vendor's latest set of fiscal year results.
According to the figures, NetApp's revenue in the three months to the end of October was $910m (£547m), a $2m drop on the same period last year.
Despite the dip, NetApp's chief executive Tom Georgens, claims that the firm's second quarter revenue was higher than expected.

Georgens said: “NetApp delivered a strong quarter with record gross margins, record revenue from our SAN products, and overall revenue that exceeded our expectations.
“Our value proposition resonates particularly well with customers who look to gain efficiency and streamline operations as they begin to build our next-generation virtualised data centres. Driven by this demand, NetApp is forecasting record revenues for our next fiscal quarter,” he claimed.
The results follow news earlier this week that the vendor is setting its sights on becoming the number one player in data and storage managment in EMEA by 2012.
