Networking vendor Westell Technologies has signed its second UK distribution deal with Westcon  Group to reach the distributor’s Cisco VAR base.

Westell’s other distributor is Voice Comms Warehouse .However, it signed Westcon because its products are compatible with Cisco’s.

Westcon will distribute Westell’s InterChange iQ (IiQ) Convergence Gateway range, which offers firms using traditional PBX networks alternatives to a converged IP networks.

David McKeigue, managing director of Westell, said: “We are a member of the Cisco Technology Developer Programme. Cisco has approved our product to work with its call management system.”

Guy Koster, vice-president of Technology Solutions at Westcon Group Europe, claimed Westell will enable its resellers to offer a phased migration to IP convergence “with all the benefits and none of the risks”.
