Computer Associates (CA) has confirmed that VAR Redstone will continue to work as the master reseller of its eTrust anti-virus products.

Redstone bought Tolerant Systems, which originally held the master reseller status, for £3.75m last month, but it was unclear whether the status would be transferred (CRN, 25 July).

Martin Balaam, chief executive of Redstone, told CRN: “I can confirm that we have had the first couple of meetings with CA and they went well. We see it as very positive. We are looking forward to drawing up plans to expand CA’s products throughout the rest of the group and to our customer base.”

Terry O’Loughlin, UK channel sales manager at CA, said: “We have had what will hopefully be the first of many meetings with Redstone since the acquisition. We are discussing our plans for the future and it’s business as usual.”
