Aparicio: The concept of using an online drive is in its infancy and there is huge scope for innovation

Software-as-a-Service (Saas) specialist Humyo has recruited its first channel head and aims to drive 50 per cent of its revenue indirectly.

David Aparicio arrives from software vendor BullGuard as channel sales director. He claimed he would explore various routes to market, including ISPs, resellers, retail distribution and OEM partnerships.

Humyo is looking for 500 UK partners to resell its small-business-targeted cloud collaboration and storage tool, Workspace. VARs will receive pre-sales support and margins of up to 40 per cent, depending on projected sales. The product costs end users £4.95 per user per month.

Currently, 95 per cent of Humyo’s revenue is generated directly. Aparicio claimed his firm had a 10 per cent share of the global cloud storage and synchronisation market.

“By 2011, we want at least 25 per cent,” he said. “The concept of using an online drive is in its infancy and there is huge scope for innovation.”
