C2000 has launched a Windows 7 microsite for resellers

Computer 2000 (C2000) has launched a viral marketing campaign to encourage resellers to get up to speed on Windows 7 ahead of its debut on Thursday.

The broadliner’s Change Your World campaign encourages resellers to develop their ability to sell the operating system by testing their knowledge in an " interactive and fun way".

The two resellers who complete its Jet Set Worker interactive game in the fastest time will win a £500 Game voucher. All those who complete the game will be given access to exclusive promotion offers and discounts on Windows 7.

The distributor is also running a Windows 7 promotion with four of its vendors – Samsung, Sony, Acer and Toshiba.

All four vendors are providing free upgrades to Windows 7 on all notebooks and PCs purchased with standard versions of Microsoft Windows Vista between 26 June 2009 and 31 January 2010.

C2000 has a Windows 7 microsite setting out the different versions available, licensing options and key reasons for buying.

Mark Glasspool, general manager of the PC systems business unit at C2000, said: “Windows 7 is the next big thing in the PC market and we’re going to make sure resellers can make the most of the massive excitement and activity that we are going to see around the launch.

“Our Change Your World viral marketing campaign will raise awareness of the benefits and help resellers get sales and technical staff up to speed and ready to talk to customers about Windows 7. Our exclusive vendor promotions meanwhile provide resellers with a great set of value propositions that they can take to market immediately.”
