Anti-virus vendor Kaspersky Labs has signed Ingram Micro as its fourth UK distributor to expand its reach into the retail and consumer markets.
Simon Geach, channel and retail sales manager, UK and Ireland at Kaspersky, said: “Ingram will help increase our brand awareness in the retail and consumer markets. It has a strong presence and huge resources.”
He said the partnership would not affect Kaspersky’s relationship with its other three distributors Wick Hill, Arc Technology and CMI.
“This deal will not be detrimental to our existing partners,” he added.
Ian Kilpatrick, managing director of Wick Hill, said: “Kaspersky has always been very clear on its product roadmap and partner strategy. We have no problems with this deal. We are sure Ingram will not be dealing with anything other than the retail and home marketplaces.”
Ingram was unavailable for comment as CRN went to press.
