Crane Telecommunications has signed wireless security vendor Trapeze Networks, as the distributor targets the voice over IP (VoIP) and convergence markets.
Will Morey, director at Crane, said: “We expect huge growth in the IP telephony market, and want complementary solutions for our core vendors. Technology such as wireless LAN will explode over the next few years.”
David Grant, chief executive of Crane, said Crane plans to become part of the massive growth predicted by analysts for the VoIP sector. Trapeze also inked a distribution agreement with Crane’s rival Westcon last year (CRN, 17 October).
Bernie Dodwell, European security manager of Westcon, said: “Crane is playing catch up on the VoIP side.
Wi-Fi is a growing market, and we have been with Trapeze for the past six to eight months as part of a solution sale.”
