Security vendor SurfControl has wasted no time in reassuring partners and countered claims that the firm has made the switch to a two-tier distribution model.
Speaking to CRN, Harnish Patel, senior vice president sales EMEA at SurfControl, said the firm was still “reviewing a potential distribution strategy”.
“The issue of distribution has come up on a number of occasions and we are still considering it. I would say we will make a final decision in the next three to four months,” he said.
Patel said the confusion followed its recent announcement that specialist security distributor e92plus would be supplying SurfControl’s Web Filter software pre-installed on Celestix appliances.
Mukesh Gupta, managing director of e92plus, said: “The Celestix agreement is effectively a two-tier agreement, but whether SurfControl extends this to their other products still remains to be seen.”
