Anglo-Irish reseller Calyx is opening a service centre in Manchester to bolster its managed services prowess.
The VAR has repeatedly signalled its intent to become more managed services-focused and recently appointed former Getronics and Logica luminary Gaurav Bhasker as group services director.
The state-of-the-art centre in Manchester will be fully operational this month.

Guarav said Calyx has made a number of key changes in recent months to reflect the shift in priorities among customers.
“In our experience, customers are looking for three things: immediate cost reduction with predictable costs moving forward; reliable and consistent service; and commitment to continuous improved service allowing them to focus on their core business,” he said.
Calyx has gone through a number of ownership changes in recent years.
The reseller delisted from the Dublin and London stock exchanges in 2007 when it was bought out by management and private equity firm Alchemy Partners.
Founder Maurice Healy then bought Alchemy’s majority stake last October.
