The explosion of the UK netbook market has prompted distributor Micro Peripherals (Micro-P) to up its game by signing a partnership with components vendor MSI.

MSI is best known for its VGA and mainboard products, but the alliance will also hand Micro-P access to the vendor’s netbook offering, MSI Wind.

Surging demand for netbooks, such as Asus’ Eee PC, fuelled a 60 per cent annual spike in sales of consumer portable PCs in western Europe in Q2, according to IDC.
