Security giant McAfee has appointed a new channel head to oversee the firm’s activities across EMEA, following the recent departure of Jose Vasco.

Georges Millet, who was previously responsible for the worldwide channel operations of CAD vendor Autodesk, joins the firm as EMEA channel vice president and will focus on supporting McAfee's partners in selling its security portfolio.

Millet said: “Our renewed commitment to preparing the channel for greater success in value added business, while also growing partners’ volume business, means that McAfee has a unrivalled offering for its channel.”

David Quantrell, president of EMEA at McAfee, added: “Georges brings to our EMEA organisation considerable experience of partnership and an understanding of how channels can be optimised to deliver value to both partners and to customers alike.”

Millet's appointment comes hot on the heels of a number of other new faces joining the firm, including McAfee UK and Ireland vice president Jacqueline de Rojas in July 2009 and global channel chief Alex Thurber who joined McAfee in August 2009.
