Symantec is ramping up its certification enforcement efforts to reflect the recent spike in training activity among its resellers.
The security and storage vendor claims it has been on a huge partner-enablement drive since the launch of Symantec University in October.
In the past year, the number of staff at UK Symantec partners who have gained sales specialisms has increased by 167 per cent. The equivalent figure for technical specialisms is 186 per cent.

John Brigden, senior vice president of EMEA at Symantec, said the firm is mapping out which partners have invested in which areas.
“This year we are driving certification enforcement more seriously,” he said. “We want to ensure that those who have made the investment are rewarded.”
Symantec has 46,000 resellers in EMEA, but Brigden said the enforcement process would focus on the small numbers of partners at the “top end of the curve”.
