Fixed mobile convergence (FMC) specialist Agito Networks is seeking UK VARs with wireless LAN, unified communications and voice expertise.

Paul Donovan has joined as vice president of European business to launch Agito’s EMEA business.

The vendor has signed four UK VARs, including Dimension Data. “We are also close to signing a couple of smaller, boutique partners,” said Donovan.

He hopes to add a further six partners and might look at opening distribution channels at the end of 2009.

Agito’s 2000 series router is available at £6,960, while the 4000 series is £19,150.
Partners could make margins of 35 per cent on kit alone, with design, installation and other services on top, added Donovan.

Agito co-founder Pejman Roshan said: “With greenfield installations, VARs can add Agito as the mobility component.”

Rob Bamforth, principal analyst at Quocirca, claimed FMC start-ups had to target businesses or carriers as a route to market. “Agito has a good chance of success,” he said.
