Sytemax has closed its acquisition of online VAR WStore and is set to run the firm as a separate unit.
CRN understands the paperwork for the deal, which includes Surrey-based WStore’s operations in France and the UK, was completed last night.
The deal, which was originally announced in August, took place in France and the two parties were waiting for clearance from the French Monopoly Commission.

Channel onlookers initially questioned how closely US-based Systemax would integrate 60-strong WStore with its Misco brand.
However, it is now thought that WStore will be run as a separate arm focusing on the SME space – contrasting with Misco’s public sector and consumer bent.
The two firms also have contrasting accreditations, with WStore handing the
group access to new badges in the high-end server and storage arena. Both Misco
and WStore hold a variety of Catalist accreditations, but Misco has a greater
focus on the volume space and WStore boasts some unique specialisms around
consumables.
The two parties are also likely to be reviewing how WStore could benefit from
the discounts Misco receives from bulk orders on volume products.
It is understood that there will be no immediate changes to WStore’s management as a result of the deal.
