Distributor Westcoast is giving staff at its Reading and Milton Keynes offices the chance to take part in apprenticeship programmes and NVQ qualifications.
The courses are being delivered on Westcoast’s behalf by training provider Intec Business Colleges, and include apprenticeships and NVQs in business and administration, customer service, team leading and management.
Kayleigh Belton, HR assistant at Westcoast, claimed the opportunity for further study had been warmly received by the firm’s employees. “Staff have been keen on taking up an NVQ or Apprenticeship because they don’t have to spend money on courses outside of work hours to become better qualified.

“They also recognise that doing a course like this means the skills they learn are specifically related to their role,” Belton added.
The firm added that response has been so good it is now extending the course provision to its employees in Nottingham.
James Butler, Intec sales executive, said: “Westcoast is very well known in the world of IT and obviously we are delighted to be working with its staff, especially because the company really does believe in the value of staff training.”
