Well, the voting for the Channel Awards 2008 is finally over.
After a long judging process and a lot of blood, sweat and tears by the entrants, we have our final list ready to reveal at the awards ceremony itself on 13 November.
More than 10,000 votes almost 3,000 more than last year have all been counted, verified and checked. I still have the aching eyes to prove it.
This year, I have to say the voting process has been more closely vetted than ever in the awards’ 15-year history. Three independent people have looked through the votes to ensure they were all genuine and above board.
As we all know, there is no room for any mistakes.
As a result it has given the awards the shake up it needed. I know there will be
a few surprises on the night, which is always a good thing.
It has also been a bonus to have the Judges Commended accolade to throw into the mix this year again there are some very deserving winners itself no minor achievement.
It is great being privy to classified information, and nothing will get me to reveal any clues about who has won. Not even bribery of the highest degree will work.
The night is lining up to be a good one hopefully the best yet and I’m looking forward to the celebrations when the winners are finally announced.
