The question ‘What is great about the internet?’ surely has an infinite number of answers.

Just putting the question to one of the biggest online success stories (we’ll leave the ‘evil or not’ discussion for another time) Google, draws 326 million answers. And I discovered all of that in one-fifth of a second. Past generations would not believe their eyes: Dr Who, the Jetsons and Buck Rogers all rolled into one have come to life.

But the dawn of a new age (although perhaps less embryonic, but more at the delinquent teenage stage now) brings with it both challenges and opportunities. With all this information roaming free, there is a danger of information overload: you read so much that you learn nothing at all.

Ideally, you need one place where you can get all the information you need: news and analysis that is dynamic, updated continually, quick and easy to read, informative and thought provoking; services that help your company do business by helping you locate, finance and source products; forums where you can chat and discuss current issues with your peers; and secret bloggers that let you see the inner workings of the channel.

CRN has created this place. We have updated and revamped our web site to create exactly this type of space for the channel community. We break exclusive stories online to ensure that you are kept fully up to date with the latest goings-on in the channel. We have our online services portal and our download service, as well as forums and a community area, which will be available online soon. Not only that, but we have made the site even faster, so for even the most impatient of you out there, there is less time spent waiting for pages to load.

With so much content out there, finding relevant and applicable information quickly can be all but impossible, so CRN has aimed to make this just one less of the arduous tasks expected of channel executives day in, day out.
