Career so far:

I've worked for Orchard Business Systems, Paxus and Solution 6. The last 20 fabulous years have been at ramsac.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do?

I'd be the education minister and I'd change curriculums to include proper employability skills and I'd also work to bring back the cane.

Cloud - friend or foe?

Friend, definitely, and you have to embrace it.

Has 2011 been as bad as everyone said it would be?

No, we've had to work hard but that's no bad thing and there is plenty of work out there.

What would you have as your last meal?

A chicken vindaloo with a bottle of Pinotage.

Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with?

Kelly Rowland.

Have any of your predictions come true this year?

Sadly, as an Aston Villa fan, no.

What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2012?

The channel needs to continue to innovate and adapt, adding a blend of cloud services and related value-add to complement the on-premise elements which inevitably will remain.

What is the best part of your day?

Early in the morning before anyone else is awake is my most productive time but the best bit is when my children wake up and come into my study to say "Good morning Daddy".
