What was the worst job you have ever had?

A Saturday job in a supermarket butchery department. I've definitely had my fair share of offal.

Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?

Robin Williams (more Good Morning, Vietnam than Mrs Doubtfire). He was humble, challenging, funny and on occasion irreverant.

What do you do as your party trick?

I can drink a yard of ale.

What is your favourite chocolate bar?

Green & Black's Chilli Chocolate.

What has been the highlight of your career to date?

Unveiling the hard work we put into our new Partner First strategy at our largest partner event to date held in September.

Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year?

Not good, but great! We will stop at nothing to drive success with our partners and execute against our Partner First strategy.

How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death? Like the Simon Cowell for technology: looking to showcase the best of breed talent while determining what the crowd wants and ultimately, creating a Christmas chart-topping solution.

Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... a sports psychologist. Who wouldn't miss the opportunity for a chat with Jonny Wilkinson?

What major issues will the channel face in 2015?

Finding harmony in the convergence of SIs and resellers; developing financial models to support ‘everything-as-a-service'; and creating solutions around the ‘Internet of Things That Matter'.

Broadcom tells partner negotiating for charity 'VMware is not for everybody'

“The statement that came back to me from Broadcom was, ‘We appreciate that with these changes VMware is not for everybody,’” says Tom Smyth, head of technical solutions as Misco. “Everyone else can use it. Broadcom is not going to gear its decisions towards them anymore. … I can appreciate that. I can respect their decisions. It’s not something I would do personally.”
