HP Enterprise and group marketing director, Tech Data
What was the worst job you have ever had?
I worked as a car mechanic when studying and smelt of engine oil all the time.
Which actor would you pick to play you in a movie of your life?
One that would make me look younger, fitter and sexier - there are plenty to choose from.
What do you do as your party trick?
Opening a bottle of red wine and drinking it.
What is your favourite chocolate bar?
The one in my hand, heading for my lips.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
The beauty of working in distribution is that it keeps changing and reinventing itself and as a result you have to change with it. So a life in distribution is one big highlight, a bit like a rollercoaster at a theme park.
Has 2014 been a good, bad or ugly year?
It's been a good year. I've got the opportunity to get back into the product side of the business working with the vendor I group up inside.
How would you explain the IT channel to a stranger without boring them to death?
I wouldn't, because it would.
Aside from the channel, my dream career would be... a very highly paid deckchair attendant on a Caribbean beach.
What major issues will the channel face in 2015?
The rate of change is going to increase as annuity models increase, cloud solutions accelerate and client products reinvent themselves into ever-more mobile devises. The channel needs to keep up with and stay on top of these changes.
