Managing director, HP UK & Ireland

What is your greatest career move to date?

I don't know if I would say greatest but becoming the managing director for HP UK and Ireland has been my favourite. We have a great set of customers and partners in both countries and I truly enjoy working with them.

What is top of your bucket list?

Walking the Camino de Santiago.

What has changed most since you started working in the channel? Why?

The channel is always changing and the successful resellers and vendors are those that both anticipate but also pay attention and react to the changes.

How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?

I believe there will be an impact but until the deal is finalised it is impossible to say. Regardless, I think the best resellers and vendors will be fine as there is always change in the market and the strongest will thrive on it.

What is your least favourite task during the working day?

Email and internal conference calls.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

I am sure the right answer is Eagle or Lion but I will say Elephant. They are smart and strong and once they get going in one direction they are very difficult to stop.

If you won the big one on Euromillions, what would you do?

I am positive there is a Caribbean island or two that needs to be bought.

What is your worst habit?

Always thinking we can drive one more initiative.

How has 2016 been for you? Why?

I would love to say I was a Leicester City fan and it has been excellent but I am a Chelsea fan (so not as much). At work it's been great - we spent our first full year as a standalone company, we launched more great products this year than we have in any previous year, and we gained share across the board.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career, and why?

If I couldn't work for HP my dream would be to own an island, with a small bar where I could hang out and learn to make cocktails.

What major issues will the channel face in 2017?

Whatever they are the channel will be resilient and continue to thrive.
