Forgive me if I am wrong - but I thought in business the idea was to keep your intimate business matters private in case information falls into the wrong hands.
Not according to the loud and frankly ignorant 'businessman' sitting in my train carriage today.
He sat there (in the quiet coach where use of mobiles is banned as a 'consideration' to other passengers) and spoke in the loudest voice about his 'latest kicking' in the education space - something to do with the Janet network.
Unfortunately I didn't get everything he was talking about because I had my headphones on, but when the irritating background noise didn't go away I turned them off and caught the end of his 'conversation'.
Not only did he talk about how his company received a drubbing - he dictated a letter as well to the poor unfortunate on the other end of the phone. Again I only tuned in at the tail end of the letter, or I would have written down every word and published it online for all to see.
Now from where I was sitting it did sound like he worked for an IT supplier, and had come from the direction of Nottingham/Derby, arriving at St Pancras at 09.06.
Frankly if he works for anyone reading this - I would seriously have a word with him about his discretion in public. Or at least teach him the meaning of the word 'quiet carriage'.
What an idiot.
