I'm a little tempted to say 'put another record on' when it comes to national media reports about the economy - the amount of doom and gloom out there is extremely depressing.
We get sent reports from about the state of the economy every day - with one saying that we are indeed hovering over the precipice of recession, and another saying that we are actually IN recession once more.
And of course every day there is an update on the Eurozone crisis with France losing its AAA status last week and other countries set to follow suit soon.
What I am noticing though is that hardly any of these stories are balanced with any really positive economic news - there has to be SOME out there surely?
Oh I tell a lie - M&S sold quite a lot of food at Christmas. Which is nice.
I know we cover negative news here on ChannelWeb - but unlike our cousins in the national press we are not afraid to publish positive stuff as well.
So this is a call to action - if you have some positive news - please share it with us! I would like to write a few more positive stories this week or mention positive news on Twitter.

Sara,
We share the exact same view on the role of the media in constantly reporting doom and gloom. Whatever state our (and the global) economy is in, it is very apparent that confidence needs to be instilled in the public that it is safe to spend so as to improve the situation. The media surely understands this, and holds the power to do so, so the real question is why don't they?! It cannot be as cynical as the fact that bad news sells more than good news can it...........
We, at The Change Organisation Ltd, have decided that our little world in Kent will be free from any media influence on what our future holds. Our staff understand that they hold the power themselves and that the World is full of opportunity for those willing to find it. We have recently invested in new warehouses which, as a distributor, is one of the main areas of growth and, logically, we will be looking to fill it with more products! We are also running an internal competition to create motivational signage to place around our HQ to inspire our staff and visitors that there is hope and it's imbedded here at The Change Organisation!
The calendar year has started very well for us so we remain optimistic that 2012 will be a successful year for our staff and we look forward to the day the media decides to help the economic situation. As and when that day comes, The Change Organisation will be perfectly placed to take advantage of increased confidence in the market.
To quote a popular strap line from a well known clothing label,
'Impossible is nothing'
Many Thanks and best wishes for 2012.
