Looking forward to 2008

CRN will be growing and improving during 2008. writes Sara Yirrell

Looking forward to 2008There is something slightly misleading about the start of a new year.
With 365 days stretching ahead it always seems like the year will go on forever, but before you know it the depressing winter months are over, spring has been and gone, the agonisingly slow summer months have passed and it is the build up to the crazy quarter four period once again.
Market watchers are predicting a roller coaster of a year, with more downs than ups ahead as the credit crunch continues to hit and a US recession looms.
But at CRN, we have a very busy year coming up and are feeling upbeat. The world of publishing is evolving so quickly that we have to adapt to those changes and come up with new ways to engage with our readers - in essence, a value-add model of publishing.
Engaging with our readers is what it is all about in 2008 - we want more feedback, more interaction and more contact than ever before. We truly want to be the mouthpiece of the channel and are very keen to make new contacts as well as keep in touch with all our valued regulars.
Not only do we have a new-look web site in the pipeline, and old favourites such as the Golf Day and the Channel Awards to look forward to next year, but we have several other events coming up as well.
Channel Expo is shaping up very nicely indeed for May with more of an emphasis on the channel than ever before, and we have launched the CRN Channel Fight Night, which has already had a fantastic response as industry heavy-weights look to battle it out one-on-one in the boxing ring.
The whole CRN team is very excited about 2008 and hope our readers will join us for the
ride. Here’s to 2008 and a happy, prosperous New Year to all.
