Even in its waterproof case, the Exilim Zoom EX-Z50 feels lighter and more comfortable to hold than other models we have tested. The buttons at the back of the EWC-40 case respond well to touch and it offers a good grip both underwater and on land.

With 3x optical zoom and a 5megapixel resolution, the Exilim delivered crisp images. There are 23 scene modes and the 2.5in LCD screen makes it easy to review photos or movie clips. The case can be taken underwater up to 40m and has sand, dust and dirt resistance.

The camera uses a rechargeable battery.
