Review: TerraTec iQuader

Higher fidelity

The iQuader is aimed at users who need high-quality audio, so it is perfect for podcasts, broadcast-quality radio users and media specialists. It is also designed with HD broadcasting in mind and will handle 24-bit resolution and 96-kHz sampling frequency.

The unit is fairly bulky – about the size of a table-top phone conferencing microphone (152x70x25mm). But once you look at the specification the reason for its large size becomes obvious.

The unit includes a high-quality microphone preamp and an analogue limiter. It has a handy LED display that flashes and changes colour with the sound volume and there are two illuminated controls, which also light up for the microphone volume and monitor volume.

Sound quality and sensitivity are exceptional. The built-in limiter also prevents digital distortion and means the recording quality is good, no matter what the volume.
