Ardenta wins at Ladbrokes

VAR wins biggest ever contract with betting firm

Written by Sara Driscoll

VAR Ardenta is feeling lucky after winning a four-year deal to supply the UK’s largest gambling firm, Ladbrokes, with IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) technology. The contract is Ardenta’s biggest ever.

The deal includes licensing and maintenance, and allows Ladbrokes to run its online betting application, OpenBet, on Informix across London, Kuala Lumpur and Gibraltar.

Neil Truby, director at Ardenta, an IBM Premium Business Partner, told CRN: “The technology allows users to get instant prices and results, which is vital because odds can change at any second. The Informix database stores the information the customer desires and then renews the information all the time.”

Ladbrokes also offers customers a ‘one account’ option, which the Informix platform supports. Ladbrokes customers select a single user name that provides access to all channels and across every product.
