Webroot EMEA partners given the ChannelEdge

Vendor decides to launch partner portal in Europe to help drive channel sales

Written by sara yirrell

Anti-spyware software vendor Webroot has rolled out its dedicated partner portal across EMEA to help drive channel sales.

Launched as part of the Webroot ChannelEdge Partner Programme, which divides partners into Standard and Premium levels, the portal will supply resellers with free marketing resources and sales tools, as well as product and promotion information and details of webinars and pricing.

Speaking to CRN, Daniel Mothersdale, EMEA marketing director at Webroot, said: “The portal was initially developed in the US, but due to demand we have decided to make it available to our European partners.

“It is very important for us to keep our channel informed, so we want to provide them with as much information as we can through the portal. By providing a single, comprehensive resource we are offering free access to tools that can have a real and measurable effect on revenue streams. We have already had a majority of our existing partners sign up to it and we have received very positive feedback.”

Earlier this month, Webroot signed Softek and Sphinx as its first two official UK distributors to expand its partner base in the region and to push its flagship Spy Sweeper Enterprise product to both SME and enterprise end-users (CRN, 13 November).

Mike Bienvenu, technical director at Softek, said: “Partner portals from vendors are always useful for the reseller channel to get information on marketing materials and mail-outs.

“All vendors should have some sort of portal because it makes it easier for resellers to sell products. Any vendor that doesn’t have one in place is lagging behind.”
