Computerlinks signs TippingPoint

Computerlinks will look to recruit 10 to 12 partners on behalf of the vendor

Written by sara yirrell

Computerlinks has added to its vendor stable by becoming the sole UK distributor for intrusion prevention (IPS) vendor TippingPoint, a division of 3Com.

Computerlinks will carry the entire TippingPoint portfolio and will look to recruit 10 to 12 partners on behalf of the vendor, which has ended its existing relationship with distributor BlueCube.

Dave Ellis, director of e-security at Computerlinks, said: “The IPS market is going through the roof and is the fastest-growing sector in IT security. We are looking for focused resellers, perhaps those involved in both networking and security. But we certainly don’t want to flood the market and sign up hundreds of partners.”

Steve Durkin, regional sales director at TippingPoint, said: “Computerlinks has strong relationships with a lot of the UK’s quality VARs. It also services the larger players, which will help us scale our business.”
