TeleWare signs Azzurri

VAR bags lucrative deal to carry vendor's entire portfolio in the UK

Written by Doug Woodburn

Azzurri has become the first UK VAR to sign contracts to carry communications vendor TeleWare’s full portfolio.

Yorkshire-based TeleWare offers IP voice as an on-premise, hosted or mobile solution, and Azzurri will work towards accreditation in each of these three areas between now and May.

Peter Orr, sales director for TeleWare, said: “Azzurri, as an independent system integrator, is able to offer truly independent solutions without any tie in between application and hardware vendor.

“This makes this a very significant development for mid market and corporate customers, many of whom will have had experience of the promises and issues of solutions coming from multi vendor product development partnerships.”

Eric Thickett, director of professional services at Azzurri, claimed the VAR had already received “strong interest” for TeleWare solutions from retail customers.

“Our first project is due for installation in the next few weeks at [race engineering firm] Triple Eight, which will include hosted telephony and private mobile network capabilities,” Thickett added.

TeleWare recently admitted its channel is skewed towards the south of England and put out a call for more northern VARs (CRN, 4 May).

Azzurri, which has an annualised turnover in excess of £150m, has 900 employees and offices across England and Scotland, as well as in Los Angeles and Sydney.
