Computerlinks lands four vendor partners

Distributor bolsters its digital home portfolio after signing clutch of vendor partnerships

Computerlinks has expanded its digital home portfolio by signing four new vendors for the UK market.

The distributor unveiled its products at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association’s European Home Technology Expo last week.

Computerlinks kicked off its partnership with UK-based Lewis Home Theatre with the launch of what it claimed is the UK’s first IP network-based DVD/high-definition DVD system, which enables customers to watch films in up to 50 rooms.

John Turner, head of multimedia networking at Computerlinks, said: “The Lewis Multiroom systems fit into our portfolio of IP network-based multi-room audiovisual (AV) and home automation products. We believe the quality, attractive pricing and ease of installation of the Lewis multi-room movie systems will prove a powerful mix.”

Computerlinks also signed with Israeli vendor Superna for its control software. “The control software is ideal for someone who wants to deliver multimedia around the home, but is on a restricted budget as it only costs a few hundred pounds,” Turner said.

The third new product is a development package of software from Stardraw for ISVs or AV integrators who want to put together bespoke home automation applications.

Computerlinks has also partnered with ViewSonic’s Visual Solutions division, which was launched earlier this year.

“We are distributing Visual Solution’s Airsync v212 wireless tablets, which we see as the main control hub for a digital home,” said Turner.

Paul Farrow, business development manager at Visual Solutions, said: “Computerlinks is our first UK distributor. It is a professional company and will give us credibility.”
