Trend axes e92plus

Security giant slims down distribution line-up by parting company with e92plus

Written by Doug Woodburn

Security vendor Trend Micro has headed off growing speculation by confirming it has axed e92plus from its distribution line-up.

Tony Larks, northern European marketing manager at Trend, said: “As of 1 July, e92plus will no longer be an authorised distributor of Trend Micro.

“We have gone from three to two VADs to give our distributors enough resources to develop the channel.”

Larks emphasised the move was part of Trend’s drive to rationalise value-add stocking partners across Europe.

He said Trend was now transferring the 450 resellers that bought from e92plus to its two remaining value-add distributors, Computerlinks and Sphinx, and its two broadline partners, Ingram Micro and Blue Solutions.

Larks added that Trend based its decision on the volume of dedicated resource each distributor could offer.
