AN4 Group poised to grow security division

Reseller reveals security ambitions

Written by sara yirrell

VAR AN4 Group is keen to build on the success of its recently launched security division to cover the growing security demands of its customers.

The reseller has already completed technical training and accreditation with more than 20 security vendors including BeCrypt, Secure Computing, RSA, F5, Astaro and Juniper. AN4 has also set up a portal that gathers product information and makes it easier for customers to understand.

Kristian Connor, sales director at AN4 Group, said: “We used to sell security through general account managers rather than having a specialised team, but it is such a growth area that we quickly realised the need for a dedicated division.”

The reseller also partners with Hewlett-Packard, Novell, Cisco, Citrix and Microsoft, among others.

“The main idea behind the security division is to offer a set of products that have one or two options within our portfolio to help customers select the best solution for their needs,” Connor added.

He said AN4 is also working on adding extra vendors to the division and is in discussions with Blue Coat, FaceTime and Finjan.

“The aim is not to be a jack of all trades and master of none, but we are confident we will have everybody on board within the next two months.”

Richard Brook, director of sales EMEA at BeCrypt, said: “A lot of resellers now are looking to start up specialist security divisions to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge.

“This reflects the growing need for security-related services and products in the corporate and public sector space. AN4 has a very good specialist team and can offer a lot of value around security services and solutions, which is important,” he said.
