Neverfail gears up for campaign in Europe

Disaster recovery vendor is confident of growth after tope executives join its ranks

Written by sara yirrell

Disaster recovery vendor Neverfail Group is in a bullish mood as it gears up for a Europe-wide channel review.

The vendor has been joined by three top executives from rival KVault Software (KVS) – now owned by Veritas. Peter Parker, former chief executive of KVS, joined as group chief executive of Neverfail earlier this year, closely followed by colleague Nick Harmer as vice president of worldwide alliances.

More recently, Neverfail appointed former Veritas executive Richard Ruddlesden as its new EMEA channel director.

Ruddlesden said the firm is confident of growth. “Neverfail has a well established US presence and an opportunity to grow our business in the European market,” he said.

He added that the firm offers one of the only high-availability products for the broadband enterprise server market and the Microsoft SharePoint environment. “The broadband server market is growing at 50 per cent a year. It is ideal for resellers because it is not a single solution, but a need to integrate different skills,” he said. “SharePoint is fast becoming a business-critical solution.”

Ruddlesden added Neverfail is consolidating its channel and considering a distribution strategy in the UK.

“There are a number of markets that Neverfail has not tackled before, partly because distribution has not been a mainstream part of our strategy. That is going to change,” he said.

Jason Rabbetts, managing director of storage VAR Union Solutions, said the Neverfail offering will come in below rival Symantec’s. “Neverfail is operating in the market we specialise in, but not necessarily with an enterprise-level product.”
