Reseller lands public sector contracts

Written by Laura Hailstone

Software and services VAR Civica has signed two contracts amounting to nearly £50m over the next decade.
The firm has reached a contractual agreement with Sheffield City Council as strategic IT partner for the city's Building Schools for the Future programme, as part of the Paradigm consortium led by Taylor Woodrow Construction. Civica anticipates the contract to be worth £45m over all three phases of the nine-year scheme.
The VAR has also won a contract with Essex County Council worth £3.3m over three years to provide the foundation of a shared learning environment for schools across the county.
Simon Downing, chief executive of Civica said: "We believe that both programmes have the potential to transform the educational environment for the benefit of all."
